12月7日下午，我院统本软件2201（中美）班谭熙婷同学作为分院中外合作办学项目学生代表，在国际语言中心指导老师何柯欣的陪同下，于长安大学都柏林国际交通学院参加了本年度陕西省中外合作办学学生外语演讲大赛决赛，并荣获三等奖。

On the afternoon of December 7th, Tan Xiting, a student from Class 2201 (Sino-US) of the Software Engineering, participated in the final round of 2023 Shaanxi Foreign Language Speech Competition for Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education as a representative of Xi’an Eurasia university at the Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation at Chang'an University, accompanied by He Kexin, an advisor from the Global Language Center. Finally, Tan Xiting was honored with the third prize.

大赛背景

陕西省中外合作办学学生外语演讲大赛是由陕西省教育厅主办的赛事，旨在汇聚优秀学子、弘扬爱国精神、提升文化自信、为我省中外合作办学学生提供展示青春风采的舞台。本次比赛的主题是“讲好中国故事，展现青春风采（Tell the story of China well and showcase the vibrancy and passion of youth）”。参赛选手们需要结合党的二十大精神、中国式现代化、大国形象、建团百年、个人成长等主题进行主题演讲和即兴演讲。

2023 Shaanxi Foreign Language Speech Competition for Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education is an event organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education,which aims to gather outstanding students, promote patriotic spirit, enhance cultural confidence, and provide a stage for students in Sino-Foreign Cooperation Programs to showcase their youthful vigor. The theme of this contest is Tell the story of China well and showcase the vibrancy and passion of youth. Participants are required to deliver themed speeches integrated with given topics such as the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, modernization of China, the great power image, the centennial of the Communist Youth League, and personal growth.

大赛进行时

比赛历时4个多月，经历了预选赛、初赛和决赛三轮，共有来自省内26所高校的35个中外合作办学机构（项目）的59名学生参与初赛选拔，包括谭熙婷同学在内的共计18名学生进入最终英语组决赛。

This contest lasted for more than four months, spanning three rounds including the preliminary, semifinal, and final. A total of 59 students from 35 Sino-Foreign Cooperation Institutions Programs across 26 universities participated in the preliminary selection. Among them, 18 students, including Tan Xiting, advanced to the final round.

谭熙婷同学在决赛中神情自若、声情并茂地就“Harmony Between Humanity and Nature”主题完成了她精彩的演讲。其演说内容充分结合自身经历，论述了中国在绿色生态发展道路上的不懈努力和宏伟事迹，既宣扬了中国的大国精神，也体现了当代中国大学生的责任感和使命感。最终，谭熙婷同学以其优异的表现获得了省赛三等奖的好成绩。此次比赛，表现出了我校中外合作办学项目学员的卓越风采，也充分展现了我校学生优秀的英语表达能力，为欧亚学子作出了良好的表率。

In the final, Tan Xiting delivered her wonderful speech on the theme of "Harmony Between Humanity and Nature". The content of her speech fully combined with her own experience, discussed China's unremitting efforts and magnificent deeds on the road of green ecological development, not only propagated the spirit of China's great power, but also reflected the sense of responsibility and mission of contemporary Chinese college students. In the end, Tan Xiting won the third prize with her excellent performance. This contest showed the outstanding style of the students of the EU-MTSU Joint Program,  fully demonstrated the excellent English expression ability of our students, and made a good example for Eurasia students.

非常荣幸我能作为咱们学校中外合作办学项目的学生代表参加此次陕西省组织的英语演讲比赛。首先，我由衷的感谢在此过程中项目组老师们对我的支持和帮助，尤其是何柯欣老师，她一直很有耐心的指导我，细心的帮我修改我不完美的稿子，帮助我树立比赛自信心，让自己的演讲变得更完美。其次，此次的比赛，我知道了英语学习对于生活中的必要性，在备赛过程中，我付出了大量的时间去制作ppt，我发现我们校园中处处都充斥着英语的痕迹，只要留心，处处都是提升英语的机会。比赛的过程中，我也从其他优秀的选手身上学习到了宝贵的经验与知识，看到了他们平时积累量之厚，临场反应能力之快，也让我知道了“学无止境”。因此，我会在今后的学习中再接再厉，提高我的综合能力，也为同学们树立好学习的榜样。

I am truly honored to represent our school in this contest organized by Shaanxi Province. Firstly, I sincerely appreciate the support and assistance from our program teachers during this process, especially Professor He Kexin. She patiently guided me, carefully helped me revise my imperfect draft, and instilled confidence in me for the competition, making my speech more refined. Secondly, through this competition, I realized the necessity of English learning in daily life. In the preparation process, I invested much time in creating my presentation. I discovered that English traces are everywhere on our campus. If we pay attention, there are opportunities to improve English skills everywhere. During the competition, I also learned valuable experiences and knowledge from other outstanding participants. I saw the thickness of their accumulated knowledge and the quick response capability in the heat of the moment. It made me realize that "learning has no end". Therefore, I will redouble my efforts in future studies, enhance my overall capabilities, and set a good example for fellow students.
